Someone with more foresight would have got their blog up and running before they headed out on their travels. Unfortunately that person isn’t me. So, for now, I’m going to condense our eating experiences so far into one post! This is all new to me – bear with it!
2 Thai 4

We’re staying with friends, Billy and Cheryl, and they suggested 2 Thai 4, when we invited them to eat out. It’s a cute smallish Thai restaurant in Illovo . The food was amazing – less spicy than HK Thai, but served as beautifully presented dishes with delicious mixes of flavours. Sitting outside, the feel was like Thai Dao in Sai Kung – just the sea was missing. But the service was lovely and the price amazing – we paid the same for four people to eat as we would for one in HK.
Choo Choo Junction Randburg was our second foray into eating out. This restaurant has as its raison d’etre to serve recipes originating in all corners of the world. Their menu is awesome and the food matched.

We chose to eat pasta made in the shell of a cheese. This is done at the table – the host heats the cheese, scrapes cheese slivers from the inside then adds linguini and sauces to make a delicious, creamy creation which we could add our own flavours to afterwards. Delicious. But the best part of the evening for me was my cocktail - a Spicy Rupee - basically a margarita with tabasco. I ended up drinking three!! (anyone who knows me knows that is way too much for me!)
We’ll definitely be back there!
